Bridging the Gaps partner The Global Forum on MSM & HIV (MSMGF) invites you to register for the upcoming MSMGF Pre-Conference to the 2014 International AIDS Conference in Melbourne, Australia!
Setting the Pace: Gay Men, MSM, and Transgender People in the Global AIDS Response
The theme of this year’s event is “Setting the Pace,” in recognition of the central role that gay men, other men who have sex with men (MSM), and transgender people have played in responding to HIV since the first days of the epidemic. The International AIDS Society’s call for ‘stepping up the pace’ will not be possible without our continued leadership and proactive involvement.
Mark the dates in your calendar: 19-20 July
Pre-Conference activities will start on Saturday, July 19th and continue though Sunday, July 20th. The MSMGF Pre-Conference will provide a platform to exchange the most recent research, best practices, and advocacy strategies that advance the overall goal of universal access for MSM and transgender people.
The pre-conference will focus on program implementation this year, with topics addressing the Global Fund’s New Funding Model, persistent challenges in accessing quality HIV services, training needs of healthcare providers, community-based HIV service provision led by MSM and transgender people, and the relationships between community systems and health systems in meeting the needs of our communities. The event will also include networking opportunities and skills building sessions focused on the changing research, programmatic, and policy landscapes in the AIDS sector.
